Why Can't I See a Field on My Form?

You added a field to an entity but it doesn’t appear on the form when you create or edit a record.

  1. The field exists but hasn’t been added to the form layout. Creating a field adds it to the entity schema, but it won’t appear on screen until you place it on the form.

  2. The field is hidden for your security profile. Administrators can restrict field visibility per profile. Your profile may not have permission to see this field.

  3. The field is on a different tab or section. The form may have multiple tabs. Check all tabs to confirm the field isn’t placed elsewhere.

  4. The field was added after the form was last customized. If someone manually configured the form layout, new fields are not automatically inserted.

  1. Go to Settings > Entities and select the entity in question.
  2. Open the Forms tab.
  3. Check whether the field appears in the form layout. If not, drag it from the available fields list into the desired section.
  4. If the field is on the form but still invisible, go to Settings > Profiles and check the field-level permissions for your profile.
  5. Save your changes and refresh the page.

If the field exists in the schema, is placed on the form, and your profile has access but you still can’t see it, try clearing your browser cache (see How to Clear Your Browser Cache for HARi). If the issue persists, contact support with the entity name and field name.
